You don't want to have too much of a "made up" look.
There is a saying for this: 'you are worn by the clothes rather than you are wearing them'.
In Japan, we often say 'Ki-ku-zu-shu' (着崩す)meaning break the look by adding something completely the opposite.
In this case, adding casual items in order to make a 'miss-match' look.
For me, I'm all about this whenever I style myself -'Crash and add an odd thing' makes everyday look more fun!
